Nam Ha is thought to botanically unique. The area harbors at least 38 species of large mammals, over 300 bird species, important population of butterflies, amphibians and reptiles and a wide variety of non-timber forest products such as cardamom, and bamboo.

Bird watching in the early morning or evening in the Nam Ha NPA is a wonderful experience. If you are lucky you will observe a wide range of resident species, which include Blyth’s kingfisher, grey-headed lapwing, black eagle, green cochoa, yellow-vented warbler, rufous-throated fulvetta  and  short –tailed parrot bill.

The Nam Ha NPA is home to nationally important population of silver pheasant populations of silver pheasant, and the first recent sightings in Laos of the crimson-recorded here.
